July 11, 2002 - Cutting out the Motor Bracket and Forward Cabin Trunk: My goal is to have all of the bulkheads cut out and sanded before starting to assemble the hull. My reasoning is that I won't have enough work room in the shop to cut out additional parts after I start assembling the hull.
This process is almost exactly the same as last week's. I visited Cox Lumber and bought another 4X8 sheet of 3/4 inch fir plywood. Next I transferred the lines for the motor bracket and forward cabin trunk to the plywood. Finally, I cut out the bulkheads.

| I clamped my angled aluminum to the plywood to draw an accurate line across the length of the board. | Sometimes instead of using a compass to draw a radius, I use a plastic cup or coffee can. |

The finished bulkheads - as you can see, parts are starting to pile up. More to follow.
